During synod, delegates and advisers initially meet in advisory committees. Each advisory committee processes an assigned portion of the agenda and prepares a report for the delegates. Reports that are struck-through have been debated and voted on.

Synod 2026 gathers with the theme of worship and prayer “Founded on God’s Faithfulness” based in the Psalms. The underlying bedrock of the Psalms is God’s faithfulness. Only in God can there be a renewed CRC. Only through God’s Spirit and God’s Word can we become a denomination of renewed and multiplying congregations.

This theme connects with the 150th Anniversary of Calvin University and Calvin Theological Seminary

God’s faithfulness to his people is through the different seasons of life.

Whether it is in
    thanksgiving,
    the hard times,
    praise,
    trusting in uncertainty,
    holding on to God’s sovereignty,
depending on God to build his kingdom, and
sending us forth with hope for the future,
all of these point to the faithfulness of God.

The prayer initiatives for this year's synod included a Pre-Synod Prayer Gathering and Prayer Walk at Calvin University40 Days of Prayer in advance of synod, Daily Prayer Guides, early morning prayer at synod, Facebook prayer during Synod, Prayer Intercessors at synod, and worship and prayer during synod.
