Synod 2026 FAQ Available

August 12, 2026

The Synod 2026 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document is now available. The resource has been created to address common questions that have emerged from CRCNA leaders and congregations following the decisions made at this year’s synod.

The FAQ document is intended to provide additional context and clarity for people seeking to understand Synod 2026’s actions and their implications for the denomination.

In a letter to the CRC’s community of churches, Zachary King, general secretary of the CRCNA, reflected on Synod 2026 and the importance of ongoing communication following the gathering: “Synod 2026 addressed a host of forward-looking, ministry, and mission-related topics, including the future of church planting, issues of denominational funding, realignment of classis boundaries, and a number of other decisions. We give thanks to God for the honesty and respect that characterized the proceedings of Synod 2026, which were also immersed in prayer.”

King also emphasized that denominational leaders remain committed to transparency and continued dialogue with churches and members: “In compiling this FAQ document, we acknowledge that the concerns of many leaders and members of our churches may run deeper than we are able to reach here, despite our good-faith efforts to answer questions based on the facts as we understand them. It is also likely that, based on feedback that we receive, some of the responses here may be updated and new questions and responses may be added.”

The Synod 2026 FAQ is available online. Additional resources, including the Acts of Synod 2026 and summaries for classes, will be shared as they become available.
