Search Begins for Executive Director-Canada

November 29, 2023

The Christian Reformed Church in North America’s Canada Ministry Board is searching for candidates to fill the full-time, permanent position of executive director-Canada. A search team has been tasked with recruiting for this position and having the successful candidate begin on or before May 1, 2024.

The executive director-Canada will be responsible for communicating a clear and compelling vision that inspires ministry leaders and partners to advance the binational mission of the CRCNA in Canada. This person will embrace the responsibility of overseeing staff and others within the CRCNA Canadian Ministry Office as they lean into this vision each day. This position replaces what had been known as the Canadian Ministries Director position and most recently the Transitional Executive Director.

Currently Rev. Al Postma has been serving in the role of transitional executive director, appointed in April 2022 on a two-year contract. That appointment was intentionally made for a temporary, transitional term in order to move the CRCNA Canada Ministry Office to a place where a permanent executive director-Canada could serve.

“As a CRCNA Canadian Ministry Board, we sincerely thank Al for his exemplary service and for the work he has done to bring the Canadian office to this place,” said Greta Luimes, president of the CRCNA Canada Ministry Board.

“At the time of the appointment of the transitional executive director, a hiring protocol was put in place to have a formal search process at the end of the two-year term for the sake of transparency and integrity. That search is now under way and should not be construed in any way as a comment on the quality or performance of Al in the transitional executive director role; nor should it exclude him from applying for this position.”

More information about the search process and a copy of the current position description can be found at crcna.org/ExecutiveSearch. Any questions should be directed to Jim Joosse, chair of the search team ([email protected]) or Greta Luimes, chairperson of the CRCNA Canada Ministry Board ([email protected]).
