Mission Trips Emphasize Prayer

September 30, 2009

Christian Reformed World Missions has teamed up with Prayer Missions International (PMI)to offer pastors, church members, and prayer warriors the opportunity to support the mission of God through short-term mission trips centered on prayer.

The first trip will be for one week, Nov. 11-18, in Haiti. There will be some pre-trip preparation, perhaps some reading or a webinar and orientation.

The focus of the mission trips, including the initial one to Haiti, will be to engage in active, powerful, on-site prayer for the work of the ministry, missionaries, partners, churches, diaconal work, and the community as a whole.

Prayer Missions International offers individuals and teams in North America the opportunity to connect with their missionaries and the ministries with whom individuals and churches partner, and to engage with them in significant spiritual work.

The first mission trip will be to Port-au-Prince, Haiti. One team of between four and 10 people, including a team leader provided by CRWM or PMI, will take part in the prayer-focused trip.

People who are encouraged to take part in the short-term mission trip are "spiritually mature Christians committed to serving Jesus Christ"; those who are "gifted and called to prayer ministry", and persons 18 years of age or older.

Participants will need to pay for their travel and in-country expenses.

CRWM, PMI, and the CRC’s ServiceLink staff agree to provide ongoing logistical and orientation support to meet the needs of the volunteers, local community, and Haiti staff. If you are interested in applying for this opportunity or other future trips, please contact us today at [email protected].

Future trips include Honduras in spring of 2010.
