Free Advent Prayers Now Available

August 28, 2013

The Christian Reformed Church has launched a new promotion encouraging churches and individuals to consider using the book Seeking God’s Face during the season of Advent.

Meanwhile, this is the final week to obtain a 10-percent discount on the Dwell curriculum, including the new Play preschool curriculum, Walk With Me, Kid Connection, and We.

A promotion for Lift Up Your Hearts, the CRC’s new hymnal, includes a new form to download samples of the hymnal. Also, digital editions are 50 percent off until Oct. 31 with the purchase of 200 or more pew editions.

Running until Dec. 16, the promotion for Seeking God’s Face entails discounts for the book and also offers a free, 75-page download of the prayers and devotions for use during Advent.

Seeking God’s Face offers a user-friendly approach to the ‘daily office’ form of prayer and devotions,” says promotional material from Faith Alive Christian Resources, which is offering the Advent download and distributing the book.

“Written and compiled by Philip F. Reinders, this book includes an entire year of daily prayers and Scripture readings to enrich your prayer and devotional life.”

Each day of prayer includes an invitation into God’s presence, readings from a psalm and other Scriptures, prayer suggestions, and a closing blessing.

In the Advent download, it says: “During the Advent season we’ll use a selection of seven psalms connected with Advent themes, praying with portions of these same psalms each week of Advent.”

Seeking God’s Face was used as part of the Christian Reformed Church in North America’s 2012 Prayer Summit, which was itself called “Seeking God’s Face.”
