Faith Alive Magazines Win Top Awards

The quarterly journal Reformed Worship and the monthly magazine The Banner, two of the regular publications of Faith Alive Christian Resources, recently took home eight awards given by the Associated Church Press (ACP), including “Best in Class” for Reformed Worship in the Special Interest Magazine category.

Faith Alive is the publishing ministry of the Christian Reformed Church in North America (CRCNA) and resource provider for the Reformed Church in America.

The Banner is the official publication of the CRCNA. Reformed Worship is a periodical providing worship information, articles and other materials for use in churches.

In addition to the “Best in Class” award, Reformed Worship received an Award of Excellence and an Award of Merit. The Banner received an Award of Excellence and four Honorable Mentions at the awards ceremony which was held during the ACP’s annual convention on May 2 in Chicago.

Awards of Excellence:

  • What All Nations Looks Like in the CRC by Gayla Postma, news editor; Dean Heetderks, art director; Pete Euwema and Frank Gutbrod, graphic design for The Banner, in the Reporting and Writing: News Story, Magazine category.
  • Reformed Worship Joyce Borger, editor; Dean Heetderks, art director; Judy Hardy, managing editor; Frank Gutbrod, designer, in the Graphics: Publication Redesign category.

Award of Merit:

  • Reformed Worship, Dean Heetderks, art director; Frank Gutbrod, graphic design, in the Graphics: Magazine Design, Entire Issue category

Honorable Mentions for The Banner:
