CRHM Hires Education Leader

May 13, 2010

Ontario entrepreneur Mark Wallace has been hired as the new Educational Ministries Goal Specialist for Christian Reformed Home Missions.

Wallace, a native of London, Ontario, will work to champion campus ministry as an integral part of the mission of Home Missions and the CRCNA.

"I will be working with current campus ministers in Canada and the U.S. in casting a vision for campus ministry and communicating that vision within the denomination," says Wallace.

He will also collaborate with other Home Missions goal specialists and regional and ethnic leaders. “We hope to be catalysts, working alongside campus ministers, church planters, and churches to encourage them to start new campus ministries through ministry clusters and other partnerships.”

Wallace owns his own computer consulting business, and will work half-time in his role with Home Missions. "My spiritual formation is a product of my experience as a student in campus ministry," he says. "Working with local congregations, the business community, Christian camping, and spending 10 years on staff with Intervarsity Christian Fellowship helped shape me and develop my leadership skills." Significant partnerships with CRC campus ministers also laid a solid foundation for his current role.

Wallace was also greatly influenced by his exposure to the Home Missions-supported campus ministry, both as a volunteer working with graduate students and as a local campus ministry board member. “I have seen the strength of campus ministry in the CRC, and am excited to work bridging church and campus to help impact many lives," he says.

Wallace, along with his wife Cheryl and daughter Rachel, live in Guelph and are members of New Life CRC.
