Thrive

Thrive Faith Formation Tip - Mother’s Day - Women were the first to witness the resurrected Jesus, and they told others the good news of the living God. When you think about your faith journey, who are the women who have told you about God? This week take some time to journal, draw, or share with a friend or family member stories about the women who have had an impact on your faith. Consider writing a note to one of them or, if possible, visiting them and thanking them in person. Brought to you by Thrive: crcna.org/Thrive

Thrive Faith Formation Tip - Research has shown that taking slow, deep breaths when we are stressed is good for our mental health. As you recognize Mental Health Awareness Month, try using breath prayers as a way to slow down and focus your mind on God. Choose a prayer from the options below, then breathe in and out, repeating the phrases as you breathe. As you breathe in silently, pray: “Not my will.” As you breathe out, pray: “Your will be done.” Breathe in: “I am not alone.” Breathe out: “You are here.” Breathe in: “You are the potter.” Breathe out: “I am the clay” Brought to you by Thrive: crcna.org/Thrive

Inhala: “No estoy solo/a.” Exhala: “Tú estás aquí.” Inhala: “Tú eres el alfarero.” Exhala: “Yo soy el barro.” Presentado por Thrive: crcna.org/Thrive

Groundwork: God Creates - The theme of creation echoes throughout the Bible. Join our Groundwork conversation as we study Genesis 1, Revelation 21:22-24, Psalm 139:13-14, Hebrews 1:1-3, and Colossians 1:15-17 to discuss what this theme reveals to us about God’s character, love, and intentions. Then we’ll consider our call to reflect God’s creativity with our own as bearers of his image. Listen now at GroundworkOnline.com and subscribe to Groundwork's weekly emails for future episodes.

Groundwork: Humanity Falls - Just after the story of creation, the Bible tells us the story of humanity’s fall. Join Groundwork as we study Genesis 2-3, Romans 5:12, Romans 8:20-22, and Romans 3:9-23 to examine the second major theme of the Bible, the Christian doctrine of the fall. This theme emphasizes the catastrophic impact of sin on humanity and creation, and clearly articulates our universal need for a Savior in Jesus Christ. Listen now at GroundworkOnline.com and subscribe to Groundwork's weekly emails for future episodes.

Groundwork: God Redeems - The biblical theme of redemption is unique to Christian theology and sets Christianity apart from other religions. Join Groundwork as we study Genesis 12:1-5, Ephesians 1:3-11, Galatians 2:20-21, and Ephesians 2:1-5 to trace God’s story of redemption from Genesis to the ultimate sacrifice of our Savior Jesus Christ and talk about living redeemed lives as we go about our daily lives. Listen now at GroundworkOnline.com and subscribe to Groundwork's weekly emails for future episodes.

Groundwork: God Makes All Things New - The fourth major theme of the Bible is that of consummation, the time when God will complete his redemptive plan and make all creation new. Join Groundwork as we study Revelation 21:1-5, Matthew 19:28, Romans 8:18-21, and Ephesians 2:19-22 to see a future where God’s presence eradicates suffering and evil, and brings justice and eternal joy and to discuss what it means for us now.
