Calvin College Increases CRC and Legacy Grants
All first-year Calvin College students who are members of a Christian Reformed Church will receive an enhanced denominational grant of $1,500 (up from $800-$1,200 previously) starting in the Fall of 2014 and continuing throughout their years at Calvin.
"This is one step we are taking to continue to make a Calvin education affordable for many families,” said Russ Bloem, vice president for enrollment management at Calvin College.
The Calvin College Alumni Association has also increased its Alumni Legacy Scholarships—scholarships awarded to students who have parents, grandparents, great grandparents who attended Calvin—from $500 to $1,500. To qualify, students must be admitted to Calvin and apply for the scholarship by Feb. 1, 2014.
The college also offers $2,000 scholarships to all first-generation students, which are automatically renewed each year for up to five years.
“We are grateful to supporters of Calvin College who see the lifelong value in a Calvin education and help make it affordable through scholarships like these,” said Mike Van Denend, director of alumni relations at Calvin College.
Calvin College offers more than $67 million in scholarships, grants, loans and work-study each year to assist families with the cost of college. For more information on all of Calvin’s financial aid options, visit financial aid or call 1-800-688-0122.
