Thrive

Thrive Faith Formation Tip - Right before his forty days in the wilderness, Jesus presented himself for baptism. When John objected, Jesus said, “It is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness” (Matt. 3:15). We administer baptism—a sign of dying and rising—to mark the beginning of every new life in Christ. Sometime this week, dip your finger in water and reflect on these words often declared during baptisms: “You are sealed with the Holy Spirit and marked as Christ’s own.” Brought to you by Thrive: crcna.org/Thrive

Thrive에서 제공하는 자료입니다: crcna.org/Thrive

Thrive Faith Formation Tip - Annual Day of Prayer (March 11) - On the night of his arrest, Jesus asked his disciples to stay with him, watch, and pray. Prayer is a discipline that requires the dedication of our precious time and attention. It is also a practice through which Jesus invites all disciples to experience sweet communion with him. Today is the CRCNA’s Annual Day of Prayer. This week set aside intentional time to pray for your local church, our denomination, and the worldwide communion of saints. In your prayer ask Jesus to draw you and all believers to himself, that we may be one (John 17:20-23). Brought to you by Thrive: crcna.org/Thrive

Thrive Faith Formation Tip - The New Testament Gospels all include the account of a woman who interrupts a dinner party and pours out a precious perfume to anoint Jesus (Matt. 26:6-13; Mark 14:3-9; Luke 7:36-50; John 12:1-8). The disciples are offended at the intrusion. Jesus calls it a fitting tribute to his love, and a preparation for the way he will lay down his life. This week be mindful of incidents that interrupt your plans, or of individuals who intrude on your time and space. See each one as a divinely orchestrated opportunity to reorient your attention to the Savior who poured out his life for you. Brought to you by Thrive: crcna.org/Thrive

Thrive Faith Formation Tip - This is the final week of Lent. Next week is Holy Week, during which Christians will mark the end of Jesus’ journey to the cross. Those final hours of Jesus’ life were extremely lonely, as Jesus was abandoned by family, friends, and even his heavenly Father. As Jesus’ disciples today, we share in this suffering—but we are never alone. Colossians 3 describes the diverse community of believers, exhorting us to “bear with each other” as we support one another in faith. This week read and reflect on Colossians 3:11-14, and make time to connect with and encourage members of your church community. Brought to you by Thrive: crcna.org/Thrive
