Marlene was born In Burns Lake BC to an Indigenous father and a white mother. She was raised in a military family and was raised in a variety of towns and Air Bases throughout Canada and Germany. She currently resides with her husband in Frankford ON. She is a retired nurse who currently works as a Church Administrator and Bookkeeper. She is the mother of grown children, a grandmother, and values the importance of extended family and renewed relationships across generations.
She recently graduated from NAIITS with a Master of Theological Studies degree, recognized through Tyndale University. Her work focuses on Indigenous theology, reconciliation, intergenerational responsibility, and the relationship between faith, memory, and embodied practice.
