What is the general schedule for Synod 2023?

The following general schedule is tentatively in place for Synod 2023 (June 8 - 15, in Grand Rapids):

Thursday orientation

• 5:30 - 8:00 p.m. – Orientation supper for chairs and reporters, and alternate chairs and alternate reporters of advisory committees
• 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. – Supper
• 8:30 p.m. – Welcome reception/ice cream social

Convening Friday

• 8:15 - 11:00 a.m. – Opening session of synod: Election of officers, Finalization of committee assignments
• 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. – Lunch
• 1:15 - 3:00 p.m. – Advisory committee meetings
• 3:00 - 3:20 p.m. – Break
• 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. – Advisory committee meetings
• 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. – Supper
• 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. – Advisory committee meetings

Saturday

• 8:15 - 8:45 a.m. – Opening worship
• 8:45 - 9:15 a.m. – Brief plenary session
• 9:30 - 11:45 a.m. – Advisory committee meetings
• 11:45 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. – Lunch
• 1:15 - 5:00 p.m. – Advisory committee meetings
• 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. – Picnic hosted by President Boer
• 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. – Tentative plenary session

Sunday

• Morning worship at area CRC churches
• 5:00 p.m. – Synodical Service of Prayer and Praise
• 6:30 - 7:15 p.m. – Supper
• 7:30 - 8:30 p.m. – Synod workshops

Monday - Wednesday

• 8:15 - 8:45 a.m. – Opening worship
• 8:45 - 11:45 a.m. – Plenary session
• 11:45 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. – Lunch
• 1:15 - 5:00 p.m. – Plenary session
• 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. – Supper
• 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. – Plenary session
