World Renew Responds to Burlington, Ontario Floods

August 13, 2014

World Renew Disaster Response Services (DRS) is responding to this past week's severe flooding in Burlington, Ontario, along with its partner Samaritan's Purse.

Two months of rain fell in a couple of hours on Monday, Aug. 4. Hundreds of basements were flooded and Burlington mayor Rick Goldring says over 1,578 people were affected.

The city of Burlington will be applying for financial aid from the Ontario Disaster Relief Assistance Program.

DRS Early Response Coordinators will soon be in the area and making contacts with leaders from churches, local government, and other organizations.

There may be opportunities for volunteers to assist with the clean-up and recovery effort.

Those who are interested in volunteering should provide their contact information to World Renew by calling 905-336-2920.

Please pray for those who were affected, and those who will be responding.
