2007 Survey of CRC Members and Attendees

The purpose of this denominational survey, publicly dubbed the “CRC 150th Anniversary Survey” because of its timing, was to help inform decision making at all levels of the CRC—congregations, classes, agencies, ministries, institutions, etc.—in the following ways:

  1. by gathering data that adds to our understanding of past trends and anticipates future priorities;
  2. by providing representative evidence of the collective character and voice of Christian Reformed congregation members and attenders;
  3. by providing baseline data on key measures of spiritual health and commitment of congregation members and attenders which can be replicated in the future.

2007 Sustaining Pastoral Excellence - Project Evaluation Survey

With support from the Lilly Endowment Inc., the CRCNA launched the “Sustaining Pastoral Excellence” (SPE) project in 2003. The purpose of the project has been to cultivate and sustain a culture of pastoral excellence in the CRC. To do so, SPE has focused on assisting pastors through peer learning, continuing education events and mentoring.

The CRCNA, in cooperation with Calvin College's Center for Social Research, conducted two survey evaluations of this program.

Minister's Compensation Survey (updated annually)

The annual Ministers’ Compensation Survey is obtains information regarding the compensation practices generally followed by churches in Canada and the United States for pastors working full-time in the parish ministry. The survey report is shared broadly with the churches and classes in the hope that it will be useful to church councils and others as reference material when matters involving compensation and benefits for ordained ministers are considered.
