"God is working mightily in the West Coast region, and I take it as our mission to not simply maintain, but to build on the visionary leadership offered by Rev. Peter Holwerda over the last 25 years," says Arlan VandenBos. "During this interim, I will work with the classes, the West Coast Regional Team, and Home Missions to keep moving forward to find new ways to serve the local church to do God’s work here on earth. I look forward to the exciting possibilities of building relationships and resourcing churches for health and multiplication."
The West Coast team has members working up and down the West Coast, from Southern California to Washington. The team serves Christian Reformed churches in Washington, Oregon, Nevada, California, Alaska and Hawaii. While it is chartered and supported by the five West Coast Classes, Home Missions and individual donors also partner with and support this team and its regional ministry.
The team is giving leadership to the Christian Reformed Church by fostering new church multiplication, healthy reproducing churches, and missional leadership development. Increasingly, this is accomplished through clusters of leaders gathering intentionally to focus on their own leadership; their local ministries, and their ministry area. Ministry leaders from new and existing churches are supported in an integrated, holistic way through clusters that are called LEAD (Learning, Encouraging, Accountability, and Dreaming) Teams. Currently, there are 20 of these clusters with 170 pastors and point leaders participating.

Four years ago, the Home Missions West Coast regional team recognized a need and developed a vision for clusters of pastors who get together for learning, encouraging, accountability, and dreaming.
