CRC Entries Win Church Press Awards

Several Christian Reformed Church entries won “Best of the Church Press” awards in the annual Associated Church Press competition held from April 20-22 in St. Louis, Mo.

The awards honor new and established newspapers, newsletters, magazines, journals, news services, E-zines, bloggers and websites as well as entries in social media and video.

At the awards banquet, the CRC’s annual Ministry Report, (Henry Hess), won an Award of Excellence. Two entries from The Banner, the official magazine of the CRC, also won Awards of Excellence.

These were As I Was Saying in the online publications category, (Leonard Vander Zee), and The Christmas Blues, (John Witvliet).

The Banner also won  Awards of Merit for The Trouble with Outrage,  (Rebecca Warren), and Synod coverage, 2015, (Gayla Postma).

Honorable Mentions for The Banner included How Hard Could it Be?, (Judy Hardy); I Became a Grandfather Today, (Paul Zigterman), and A Luminous Mystery, (J. Todd Billings).

Also, the CRC’S Disability Concerns office received an Award of Excellence for its Breaking Barriers in the newsletter category.
