Synod 2019 will meet June 14-20 on the campus of Calvin College in Grands Rapids, Mich. Anyone interested can follow along by watching the livestream, reading the liveblog, following on social media, or signing up for daily emails at crcna.org/synod.

Over the course of the weeklong meeting, delegates will discuss, deliberate, and prayerfully discern how to take action on the matters before them.

Some of the issues on this year’s agenda for synod include kinism, worship, creation care, Israel-Palestine, missionary support, immigrant churches, ministry shares, safe church practices, a review of synod itself, and an interim report on the biblical theology of human sexuality.

Synod 2019 will begin its sessions on Friday, June 14, at 8:30 a.m. in the Covenant Fine Arts Center Auditorium at Calvin. Faith Community CRC in Wyoming, Mich., will serve as the convening church of synod. Election of officers to synod will take place Friday morning.

A community-wide Synodical Service of Prayer and Praise will be held Sunday, June 16, 2019, at 5 p.m. in the College Chapel, Calvin College, at 1835 Knollcrest Circle SE in Grand Rapids. Check here for details on a livestream of the service.

CRCNA congregations are asked to remember the synodical assembly in intercessory prayers on Sunday, June 16.

The Agenda for Synod 2019 and the Agenda Supplement 2019 are available for delegates and churches to read and study in preparation for synod.

This year, for the first time, The Banner has produced a Guide to the Agenda for Synod and a A Guide to the Supplements for Synod to summarize and help people navigate the key items coming before Synod 2019.
