Sharing Faith through Everyday Rhythms

January 23, 2019

When Craig and Jeanine Broek moved to Denver, Colo. several years ago, they quickly discovered that even though there were a lot of church buildings in their neighborhood, people were not really "into churches."

With help from Resonate Global Mission, they started The Table—a ministry that serves Denver’s Platte Park neighborhood  with gardens, dinners, Bible studies, and worship gatherings.

“We decided that rather than starting another church service on Sundays … we would better serve our community by connecting them in between Sundays,” said Craig. “We started building a community based on that call and through that, shared our faith through everyday rhythms.”

Craig and Jeanine quickly discovered that even though many of their neighbors were not attending church, they were still interested in faith. The Table became a safe place for people to explore Christianity.

"I think other people outside of this neighborhood recognize that this neighborhood is a little different," said Katie, who connected with The Table after moving to Denver.

“It really resonates with me because of the way that like Jesus did his ministry. Just talking to people, traveling to different villages, and connecting with different people who weren't within his sphere. Jesus did that constantly, and that's one of the things I really love about The Table."

Katie is just one of the many people who have found a faith community through The Table.

"Our hope is that just by showing up continually and confronting people with the goodness of grace that we can change habits and we change a culture and hopefully change an entire city,” said Craig.

Resonate is committed to finding creative ways to connect with people and engage communities through ministries like The Table. Thank you for your prayer and support.
