‘Walk the Way’ Expands Outreach

July 20, 2012

ReFrame Media’s 60-second “Walk the Way” audio program now airs on more than 1,000 radio stations, extending the reach of the practical program that has produced more than 1,100 episodes.

“Walk the Way” was launched in 2008 by ReFrame Media, the English language outreach arm of Back to God Ministries International.

The minute-long episodes provide challenging insights that encourage listeners to be practical on a daily basis with their faith. Each segment – hosted by Jeff Klein – uses simple short stories that illustrate biblical truths that challenge listeners to make the most of each day.

Recent topics have challenged listeners to evaluate their relationships with their neighbors and think about how the way we speak demonstrates to others how closely we are walking with the Lord.

“We want our listeners to literally go out and make a difference in someone’s life,” producer Mike Geertsma said. “We challenge them to put their faith into practice in tangible ways so the world can see—rather than just hear about—Jesus at work through His people.”

The program also has an online blog presence on popular social media sites Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. The Facebook page has more than 20,000 fans, with another 1,000 followers on Twitter.

The continued growth of the program is evidence, Geertsma says, that the show continues to hit home with listeners.

Listeners say the program encourages them. One says the 60-second segment is a reminder that life is more about living a life that’s pleasing to God rather than being selfish in daily endeavors.

That’s the goal of the program, says ReFrame Media executive director Steven Koster. “’Walk the Way’ is all about walking the way of Christ,” Koster says.

While other ReFrame Media outlets reach believers in different days, “Walk the Way” is the one that focuses primarily on life’s most practical moments and living life, Koster said, “with your hands.”
