What Can I Give?

December 14, 2006

An Open Heart, clear of prejudice and judgment.
“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?” (Matthew 7:3 NIV).

A Simple Life, free from clutter of consumerism and the squandering of natural resources.
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal” (Matthew 6: 19-20 NIV).

A Word and Deed Faith, that both preaches and reaches out to those who hurt, live in poverty, and suffer from HIV/AIDS.
“What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds?” (James 2:14 NIV).

An Attitude of Unity, that sheds national, racial, cultural and denominational identities with Christ’s family first.
“Long before he laid the earth’s foundations, he had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love, to be made whole and holy by his love. Long, long ago he decided to adopt us into his family through Jesus Christ” (Ephesians 1:4-5 The Message).
