This year, Aboriginal Ministry Sunday is on June 17th. This year we're celebrating 40 years of ministry at the CRC's Indigenous Christian Fellowship in Regina. Celebrate with us!
This year's bulletin cover and insert provide more history about this ministry (formerly called the Indian Metis Christian Fellowship):
"At the ministry, unity in Christ has been promoted through the daily weekday prayer ceremony which includes prayers in Christ’s name, smudging, Bible readings and reflections on Biblical teachings. The format of a healing circle for the prayer ceremony encourages each participant to be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry (James 1:19).
There have been many expressions of reconciliation that have come out of this ministry in Regina."
Aboriginal Ministry Sunday provides an opportunity for everyone in Canada to learn more about Aboriginal peoples, their cultures and to celebrate the gifts and richness that Aboriginal people bring to life in Canada. The CRC dedicates one Sunday both to recognize National Aboriginal Day and to celebrate the Aboriginal Ministry of the CRC. Bulletin covers and inserts dedicated to CRC Aboriginal Ministry are available by request at www.faithaliveresources.org/aboriginal for use in conjunction with this national celebration. Please order these materials by May 1 to allow sufficient time to mail them to you.
