Elmhurst Christian Reformed Church in Elmhurst, IL is honored to be the convening church for Synod 2009. As a part of our role as convening church, we are organizing the Synodical prayer support and activities. We invite and encourage you as a church and as individuals to participate and pray for Synod in the following ways:
- Pray at Synod. We are organizing prayer volunteers at Synod who will pray for and with Synod participants in a beautiful Prayer Tent in the west lobby of Ozinga Chapel at Trinity Christian College, just outside the Synod floor. The Tent was originally designed by a Trinity Christian College student as part of the 2009 Lenten Worship Season. It is designed as a place to come pray with someone or alone - a place to be still and reflect. If you would like to join volunteers from Elmhurst Christian Reformed Church and other churches from Classis Northern Illinois, please e-mail us at synodprayer@elmhurstcrc.org. We will be staffing the tent from 8am to 9pm, Monday – Thursday, and Friday from 8am – 2pm if Synod is still in session at this time.
- Pray with us at Elmhurst Christian Reformed Church. You are invited to join us in special designated prayer times at Elmhurst CRC, 155 West Brush Hill Road, Elmhurst, IL. Groups will be meeting for prayer on Tuesday and Thursday from 7 to 8pm, and Wednesday from 11am to 12pm. Please meet the group in the Conference Room.
- Pray at Home. You can sign up for the CRCNA Prayer Line below to get daily prayer topics and specific prayer requests. You can also remember Synod delegates, denominational employees, synodical advisors, study committee members, support staff at Trinity Christian College, and any others involved through Synod.
