
Position Title: Grant writer
Location: Bangladesh
Number of Positions: 1
CRWRC Partner Group Involved: CRWRC Bangladesh and Partners
Time Commitment: A commitment of 3 - 6 months in Bangladesh, and 4 weeks of reading, orientation, and fundraising before departure.
Dates Opportunity Is Available: Opportunity dates are dependant upon staff, partner and volunteer availability. Applications are due no less than 6 months in advance of placement. Application periods close January, April, July, and October.
Purpose: Work alongside CRWRC staff and Partner staff to write grants and edit reports, etc as needed.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Study the ministry in Bangladesh: CRWRC and Partners.
- Develop and implement process for gathering information needed to write the grants.
- Collaborate with CRWRC and its partners to write the grants.
- Edit Partner reports as needed. This could be done by email.
- Prepare monthly reports for CRWRC staff and partner mentors on progress of opportunity.
- Build relationships with the partner, and community by staying open and flexible to the culture around you.
- Write bi-monthly reports to individual supporters and churches.
- Complete recommended reading, and orientation before departure to the country;
- Provide CRWRC and the community with an evaluation at the end of the project.
Qualifications:
- Mature Christian committed to serving Jesus Christ
- Experience in Grant Writing.
- Language knowledge a plus.
- Some knowledge of integrated-wholistic Community Development work in related areas i.e. Health, Nutrition, HIV/AIDS, Water, IGA etc.
- Willingness to learn more about CRWRC Bangladesh and their partners.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Compassionate, respectful of other cultures and emotionally stable.
- Proactive and able to work with minimal supervision in ambiguous situations.
- Reporting, planning and organizational skills.
- Basic competence in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Flexible, adaptable, and able to view life with a sense of humor.
- At least 6 months of cross-cultural experience.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Raise prayer and financial support by inviting individuals, businesses and/or churches to give to your opportunity.
Budget: Please note budget is based on US dollars (this is a 4 month budget)
- Food (at $6 per day) - $720
- Lodging (at $8 per day) - $960
- Language training - $500
- In country transportation - $350
- Communication - $200
- Travel Visa – $200
- Administration fee – to be confirmed
TOTAL estimated funds needed - $2930 plus Travel Costs
Travel Costs – depending on each individual
- Travel Costs to Shillong, India
- Passport
- Vaccinations and required prescription medication
- Medical and travel insurance
- Airport Fees
- Tourist trip – if so desired

Support Services Provided: CRWRC and the ServiceLink offices agree to provide the following:
- Ongoing logistical and orientation support to meet the needs of the volunteer, local community, and CRWRC’s Bangladesh staff.
- Reading and orientation materials, consultation and/or visits by missionary staff
- Mentorship and supervision on the field will take place with CRWRC staff.
- An opportunity to help volunteers link their individual/church’s mission and vision to work being done;
- Recognition in CRWRC’s various communication to supporters and awards for the volunteers.
