
Opportunity Title: FINANCE TRAINER – for QUICKBOOKS Accounting system
Location: Dhaka, Bangladesh (and program sites in country), Shillong and New Delhi, India
Number of Positions: 1 at a time for each country (separate positions) but we could use more than one person as there are a lot of people to train.
CRCNA Ministry Involved: CRWRC
Time Commitment: Anytime from 1-8 weeks. If they stay only one week, they will work with fewer partners. It is also possible for one person to do all of this but would require about a 2 month stay with some extensive travel.
Dates Opportunity is Available: Opportunity dates are dependant upon staff, partner and volunteer availability. Applications are due no less than 6 months in advance of placement. Application periods close January, April, July, and October.
Purpose: To help partner project staff gain proficiency on the QUICKBOOKS accounting system
Most of the time will be in Dhaka. However, if the volunteer is around for more than two weeks they will travel to the partner site to assist in on site learning – review of accounting systems.
Specific Responsibilities:
1) Training accounting staff in 5 partner organizations in Bangladesh and 2 in India on the QUICKBOOKS system. Help them to get accounts on QUICKBOOKS. Answer any other basic accounting questions. Help CRWRC staff in developing internal audit systems that partners can do. Review partners accounting systems and give suggestions.
3) Be willing to share your values with others;
4) Build relationships with the community by staying open and flexible to the culture around you;
5) Live and worship with the community during the project;
6) Complete recommended reading, and orientation before departure to the country;
7) Provide CRWRC and the community with an evaluation of the project;
8) Write a story or final report for your church and/or supporters.
Qualifications:
1) Mature Christian committed to serving Jesus Christ
2) Experience in QUICKBOOKS and basic financial systems.
3) Language knowledge not necessary – training will be in English, and translated
4) Willingness to follow the community’s leadership in the project;
5) Good oral and written communications skills, as well as reporting, planning and organizational skills;
6) Be compassionate, respectful of other cultures, and emotionally stable;
7) Proactive and able to work with minimal supervision in ambiguous situations;
8) Basic competence in Microsoft Word and Excel
9) Flexible, adaptable and able to view life with a sense of humor.
Expectations of the volunteer:
1) Complete and submit a volunteer application form and resume/CV;
2) Ability to pass a background check;
3) Raise prayer and financial support by inviting individuals, businesses and /or churches to give to this opportunity;
4) Attend an orientation session in the Home Office (when possible, or by phone)
5) Adhere to CRCNA Standards of Conduct
Budget: please note that costs are estimated and listed in US funds
- Travel to country – approximately $1,700US to Bangladesh, or $1,400US to India
- Food – $15US per day
- Lodging – $20US per night in the city, $5US – $8US per night at project sites
- In country transportation – CRWRC will provide in Bangladesh. In India, $5US per day
- Visa – $100US dollars
TOTAL Estimated funds needed: about $2,000US, although depends on length of time spent on site

- orientation materials as well as ongoing logistics and support to meet the needs of the volunteers, local community, and CRWRC’s country staff;
- consultation and/or visits by missionary staff when available;
- opportunity to help volunteers link their individual/church’s mission and vision to work being done;
