Giving .7 Percent

Financial giving is not the solution to global poverty—structural changes are vital and provide more durable transformations. Neither is financial giving the only way we can give. But it is a constructive and essential component of an adequate response to poverty. (What Can One Person Do? pp. 76-77.)

Giving .7 percent of your personal gross income establishes greater integrity when we ask governments to do the same. The following table illustrates the donation value of .7 percent of one's personal income.
