Congregational Endorsement

Cyclists participating in the "Sea to Sea 2008 Bike Tour" are asked to obtain an endorsement from the leadership of their church or a church with whom they have relationship. In the spirit of unity and encouragement, churches are being asked to endorse a cyclist, whether or not they have one or more riders within their own membership.

What does Endorsement Mean?
A congregational endorsement  commends  a particular cyclist as well-suited to represent that church and the body of Christ on the tour. It also means the endorsing church will lend its support in at least the following ways:
    • praying for their cyclist before and during the tour;
    • offering words of encouragement and showing interest in their cyclist’s participation;
    • enabling their cyclist to meet or exceed his or her fund-raising goal.

This Letter to Church Councils (PDF) offers more detailed information.

As church leaders, if you have any questions about the congregational endorsement, please send an e-mail to bike@seatosea.org.
