Already but Not Yet: Embracing the Emerging Challenges of Biblical Diversity
The Multiethnic Conference 2011 will be held at Calvin College in Grand Rapids. The dates are Friday, June 10, 2011 through Sunday, June 12, 2011.
Leaders from diverse ethnicities and cultures in the Christian Reformed Church are encouraged to come together for learning opportunities, networking, and fellowship.

Keynote Speaker

Dr. George Yancey is Professor of Sociology at the University of North Texas. He is the author of Christian works such as One Body, One Spirit: Principles of Successful Multiracial Churches (InterVarsity Press), Beyond Racial Gridlock: Embracing Mutual Responsibility (InterVarsity Press) and co-author of United by Faith: The Multiracial Congregation as an Answer to the Problem of Race (Oxford University Press). He has also authored several research articles on the topics of interracial marriage and multiracial churches. Along those lines, he has authored Interracial Families (Routledge), which explores the current literature on different aspects of interracial families, and Neither Jew Nor Gentile (Oxford University Press), which explores racial issues on Protestant college campuses.
We recognize that some people around the Grand Rapids area would be interested in hearing the plenary speaker on Friday evening. For those who come to the plenary session only on Friday evening, there will be a $35 charge and for students there will be a $25 charge.
Dr. Yancey will be speaking in the Gezon Auditorium on Calvin's Campus. It is attached to the Spoelhof College Center.
