Digital Photo Contest

The Christian Reformed Church Digital Photo Contest is open to anyone with a camera. Employees of the Christian Reformed Church in North America (CRCNA) or its agencies or institutions are not eligible for prizes.

Photo Composition

We are looking for images of people and activities that depict congregational life in your church. These images may show people participating in worship, in social settings, engaging in a unique or specific ministry, etc. [Tip: We’re not looking for photos of church buildings.]

Only photos representing CRCNA-member churches are eligible.

Photos will be judged on originality, technical excellence, composition, overall impact and artistic merit. Decisions made by the judges are final.

Prizes

A – Best photos. The five best entries each will receive a $50 gift card from an online photography retailer.
B – Participation. Five non-winning photos will be drawn randomly and each will receive a $30 gift card from an online photography retailer.

Entry Details

• Only one entry per photographer. Additional entries will not be considered for prizes. (Note: submitting more than one entry does not increase your chances of winning a Participation prize.)
• Entries may only be submitted electronically in jpeg format (the standard format for digital images). Prints may be scanned and e-mailed. File size of the compressed image should be between 300 KB and 1 MB, approximately.
• Send by e-mail only to: photocontest@crcna.ca.
• All photographs should accurately reflect the subject matter and the scene as it appeared. Photos that have been digitally altered beyond standard optimization (removal of dust, cropping, minor adjustments to color and contrast, etc.) will not be considered. If a submitted photo has been digitally altered, please send a copy of the original photo as well.
• All entries become the property of the CRCNA and can be used without limit in any of its publications.
• The entry process also requires that the photographer completely fill out--with all necessary signatures--the “Entry and Release Form” and fax or mail it in using the contact info on the form.
  
• Deadline to enter is Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006.
