There are many areas in the world – and in our own communities – that need our prayers and our actions in the work for peace. Here are just two suggestions for taking action.
Canada
The Christian Reformed Church in Canada, through the Committee for Contact with the Government, encourages you to take action to work for peace in Afghanistan. They've created a helpful page where you can learn more about the CRC' work on this issue, find bullet points for writing a letter to your member of Parliament, download an action pamphlet you can distribute at your church, and access prayer and worship suggestions. View it all here.
US
The OSJ and CRWRC have come together in support of the Tents of Hope project, which mobilizes churches and communities to raise funds, generate advocacy, and provide an opportunity to educate people about what is happening in the Darfur region of the Sudan. We’ve provided suggestions and a timeline for organizing an event, and we’ve even held a couple of our own. People enjoyed this unique project, and were happy they could participate, plus, funds raised went to Darfur relief through CRWRC. This is a great way to take action and raise your voice for peace on behalf of the people of Darfur.
