Ministry Plan

The Board of Trustees of the Christian Reformed Church is entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing, coordinating, and integrating the work of its diverse denominational ministries. To assist in this task, the Board has developed and implemented a ministry plan, which serves to guide the agencies, committees, and educational institutions of the CRC in fulfilling their mandates.

The plan has gone through several revisions. The current version, revised in February 2010, is addressed to the church as a whole rather than only to denominational ministries.

The order of the ministry plan is:

Two additional sections that apply specifically to the agencies and institutions of the CRC are:

An appendix to the Ministry Plan contains an identity statement for the Christian Reformed Church. The purpose of this statement is to offer (1) a concise statement of what it means to be a Reformed Christian and a Reformed church in North America, and (2) an expanded biblical and theological foundation for the vision, mission, and core values in the plan.

Understanding the Christian Reformed Church today requires an awareness of who we are, where we have been, and what has shaped and molded us. God has created and shaped the CRC and has given us a unique and wonderful identity. In his grace and wisdom he designed our church to fulfill his plan and purpose. We believe that we are called to live and proclaim the good news that transforms lives and communities worldwide. In order to effectively live out God's plan, it is important that we understand that calling in this time and place.
