Canadian Ministry Forum Report — 2002

Letter from Canadian Ministries Director

Esteemed fellow servants in Christ,

Greetings in the Lord! In the right hand column of this page you will find a report that reflects what was heard, learned and processed through regional conversations that began in April 2001. Beginning in Listowel, Ontario and ending with the Edmonton based National Forum; we heard what God was doing and how that was shaping the vision his people have for the future. Since the Forum at the end of May 2002, staff in Burlington, assisted by the responsive reflections of a group of participants from across Canada, has sought to tell the story and to formulate the suggested goals contained in this report.

DISCUSSING THE REPORT

We invite you to read and reflect on the report. We welcome any input you have because we want to avoid duplication and we want to foster alignment with the Denominational Ministry Plan. To submit that to us, you may send it to M. Boardman at the following e-mail: mboardman@crcna.ca, or you may mail it to 3475 Mainway, Burlington, ON, L7R 3Y8.

As you study this report, here are some areas in which we especially welcome your feedback:

1) Share what it is that excites you about the report, especially for your own church and the churches of your classis.

2) Which of the suggested goals and possible launch strategies would be areas of priority for your church/classis?

3) Identify which suggested goals you would like, subject to the availability of resources, to work on in partnership with your classis and denomination.

DO YOU WANT MORE INFORMATION?

We can provide you with a lot of material in addition to what’s in the report. These are available by contacting the e-mail address mentioned above or by calling 1-800-730-3490, and they include:

a) The report submitted to the Edmonton Forum participants previous to the Forum

b) Audio and video tapes of the keynote address by Don Posterski in Edmonton

c) A supplement to the enclosed report, which gives more planning details.

Scan other pages in this area of the web site for results from the APA and Best Practices sessions at the 12 conversations among classes.

Thank you for your consideration and feedback.

Sincerely, in Christ,

Rev. William Veenstra
Canadian Ministries Director
