Meet the Yang Taeng Family!
The Yang Taeng family is made up of Taeng (the father), Choun Sarim (the mother) and their six children - Sarom, Chantha, Chanthoeun, Sarouen, Sarorn, and Konkia – all of whom live in Pey Anse Village in the Kompong Speu Province of Cambodia.
Like most families in rural Cambodia, the Yang Taengs are rice farmers. They farm approximately one hectare (2.5 acres). They also have 2 cows, 2 chickens and a pig. They live in a simple one-room wooden house with a thatched roof and a flat bamboo table outside where they eat meals and relax during the hottest parts of the day.
The Yang Taeng Family has been participating in the community based organization established by CRWRC’s partner, Community For Transformation (CFT), for about 2 and a half years. Through this program, they are receiving training and support in agriculture, education, and income- generation. I hope you will enjoy hearing about their lives over the next few
years.
The Yang Taeng family became a Free A Family® representative family in January 2011. You will hear stories about them four times a year until June 2013.
