The Youth to Youth Program provides a unique opportunity for a group of young people from North America to join with young people from a developing country and experience community development first hand.

The goal of Youth to Youth is to teach how to love mercy by building relationships, act justly by serving, and walk humbly through fellowship. The participants will learn how the CRWRC is responding to this mandate, and how they can also do so themselves through personal decisions.

The 2009 Youth to Youth trip is now complete.  CRWRC is hoping to offer a second Youth to Youth trip in the Spring of 2011.  Information will be posted to this website as it becomes available.

2009 Youth to Youth Summary

The 2009 Youth to Youth group has returned!!!  This inaugural trip has been very successful.  The group arrived back on July 27 and is now in the four month debriefing stage of the program.  The debriefing stage of Y2Y is very important.  This stage will help the youth adjust back into their own culture with the knowledge and experiences they gained through the trip to Uganda.  The debriefing helps the youth foster a holistic and lasting view of the experience they had in order to better incorporate it into their lives and share their new knowledge with others. 
 

What Happened?

In partnership with a local Church, each member of the North American group was paired with a member of the Ugandan group; they then went to the family of the Ugandan team member and experienced typical Ugandan family life. The group also observed, compared, and participated in community development in the areas of agriculture, home based health care, HIV and AIDS, social justice, evangelism and educational programs in Uganda.
