What Will Happen? The North American group will leave on Tuesday, June 30th, 2009 to travel to Malawi, and will be joined by the Ugandan group. There will be a six day orientation program for the participants, to help them adjust to their new environment, and to provide important information about the program. After the orientation, the group will spend several weeks in rural Malawi experiencing and learning from projects that are currently in place. In partnership with a local church, each member of the group will be paired with a Malawian host family with and experience family life. The group will also observe, compare and participate in community development in the areas of agriculture, home based health care, HIV and AIDS, social justice, evangelism and educational programs in Malawi. How can I help?At this point, the group is undergoing a year long process of orientation to facilitate spiritual and cultural growth. Each participant needs to raise $5,000 dollars to cover the costs of the program, and fundraising efforts are well on the way. The fundraising process has been hindered by the current economic crises, as people have been deeply affected by financial losses and instability. At this time, we need your support for the program by praying for the group and for the group leaders. You can also send in donations to the help the fundraising process.
