CRWRC began working in Liberia in 1982. Work continued until war and civil unrest made it impossible for staff to remain in the country. In 2005, CRWRC volunteers Bob & Renita Reed agreed to go to Liberia to carry out a special project until May 2008. CRWRC supports them in this ministry.

Prolonged conflict in Liberia has left a wake of devastation. Many had to leave their homes and their livelihoods. Living as displaced persons, they have had no income - no means to provide food or shelter for their families. Farmers who were able to stay in their homes were often forced to feed groups of rebel fighters.
CRWRC is implementing the second year of a CFGB project with ZOA Refugee Care, Liberia. This project is providing seeds, tools, and education to resettled people near the border of Ivory Coast. (Nimba County) Our goal is to assist the people in getting back on their feet, able to grow their own crops and start to earn an income once again.
The second year of this project will see the construction of grain drying floors and storage shelters, the construction of wells and the teaching of nutrition, health and hygiene as well as improved farming methods.
