Nancy TenBroek and Kohima Daring, CRWRC program consultants in Bangladesh, describe how they are working with partner organizations to empower poor communities in Bangladesh. Beginning with literacy training, they also teach men and women about income generation, saving money, and business development. As families develop their incomes, CRWRC provides opportunities for community leaders to take more responsibility and ownership of the community projects. Through a leadership committee called The People's Institution, community leaders are learning to identify and use their own resources to transform their own lives.
