What are Discovery Tours Core Values?

Abstract knowledge is no substitute for intentional, honest, and dynamic relationships.
So, as Discovery Tour participants, we will challenge ourselves to build up our relationships with Individuals, Communities, the World, God, and His Global Church.

To improve our relationship with Individuals, we will strive to:

• Listen to, respect and affirm the diversity of others
• Spend time with community members
• Find ways to be mutually interdependent

To build our relationship with Communities, we will strive to:

• Look for strengths, beauty and hope
• Listen and learn before speaking
• Act in ways that are culturally appropriate
• Learn about, support and encourage the partner ministries

To expand our relationship with the World, we will strive to:

• Appreciate the beauty of God’s creation
• Be good stewards of our resources and live simply
• Become more aware of what is happening in another part of the world
• Appreciate the diversity of cultures
• Wrestle with complex issues like poverty and disease
• Develop an understanding of charity, relief, development and missions

To strengthen our relationship with God, we will strive to:

• Spend time daily in His Word
• Trust in His guidance
• Be willing to hear Him speak and be changed
• Worship Him
  

To enrich our relationship with the Global Church, we will strive to:

• Be open to seeing the Church in a new way
• Worship together as brothers and sisters
