Partner Missionaries

Partner missionaries are officially employed by a school or organization with which Christian Reformed World Missions has a partnership. Partners are appointed on an annual basis, based on our agency’s fiscal year (July 1st-June 30th).

Ordinarily, partners serve in regions where CRWM already has a presence, and their work is consistent with CRWM’s mission and purpose. They are often, though not always, teachers.

CRWM works with two categories of partners:

  • Grant partners are employed by a North American sending organization, which typically provides the missionary with assistance in raising support. CRWM provides additional assistance with support-raising and commits to providing a grant if the missionary is unable to reach the support-raising goal set by their sending organization. This grant is only provided on an as-needed basis. Donations in support of these missionaries go to the sending agency rather than to CRWM.

  • Salary support partners are employed directly by an overseas institution (usually a school). They typically receive a stipend or salary from their employer. CRWM helps them raise additional support, above and beyond what they receive from their employer, which can be used to cover other expenses. These funds are provided to the missionary only if CRWM receives them from donors. Donations in support of these missionaries are sent to CRWM.
