Latin America: El Salvador

 

Ministry in El Salvador at a glance

The small, Central American country of El Salvador suffers the impact of civil war and violence, earthquakes and floods, underemployment and poverty, corruption and political instability. In that challenging context, Christian Reformed World Missions, the Back to God Hour and several local ministries have rallied together and created Seeds of New Creation.  

Facets of Ministry in El Salvador

The small, Central American country of El Salvador suffers the impact of civil war and violence, earthquakes and floods, underemployment and poverty, corruption and political instability. In that challenging context, Christian Reformed World Missions, the Back to God Hour and several local ministries have rallied together and created Seeds of New Creation.  

As a community of service, Semillas yearns to see in El Salvador churches, ministries and communities transformed by the Gospel, evidencing it with love, justice, peace, and hope. The team shares a Ministry House and works together to strengthen the mission of the church through training and collaborative efforts which serve the local Christian Reformed Church (ICRES) but also include hundreds of leaders of different denominations and impact many regions of the country. CRWM missionary Ruth Padilla DeBorst and Regional BTGH Rep. Jorge Flores work alongside Salvadoran leaders in the following areas:

 

 

 

Currently, there are no CRWM missionaries serving in El Salvador; however, Ruth and Jim Padilla-DeBorst will continue supporting the Seeds of New Creation from their new post in Costa Rica.
