What We Do

The Mission of Christian Reformed Home Missions is carried out in five areas of ministry:

Spiritual Formation

Home Missions helps churches start and maintain relationship-based small groups and prayer ministries that foster personal and corporate spiritual growth. Fourteen regional small group ministry developers offer training and coaching in English, Spanish, and Korean.

Mission-focused Churches

Home Missions offers seminars, regional festivals, leadership coaching, assessment centers, support networks, and consulting to local churches. Grants for programs and staffing are provided to mission-focused churches. Home Missions also administers grants from the Fund for Smaller Churches.

Church Planting and Development

Home Missions helps parenting churches and classes to start as many as up to 20 new churches annually in locations throughout Canada and the United States. These new church plants range from urban to suburban, and from majority culture to various ethnic language churches. Residency, coaching, Bootcamp, and orientation are also offered to new church planters.

Educational Mission

Home Missions provides grant funding and professional support to campus ministries across Canada and the United States. In addition, Home Missions assists the Red Mesa Christian Schools Association in Rehoboth, New Mexico.

Leadership Development

Through the work of Leadership Development Networks, Home Mission offers on-the-job training for future evangelists and church planters. On-line training is available to students through a partnership with Calvin Theological Seminary and Kuyper College. Assessments and internships also are available.
