Awake Church of Seattle is passionate about connecting people to Jesus, building community, and bringing the good news of the kingdom of God into a struggling North Seattle neighborhood.  This ministry began in 2008 as a church plant of Sanctuary Christian Reformed and services the area through acts of justice, mercy, and compassion.

In addition to a weekly worship gathering, which meets in the back room of a local café, Awake seeks to grow in communion with God and community by practicing the rhythms of eating, praying, and studying scripture.  Church members participate in neighborhood revitalization projects and build relationships with the local community.  Awake is less about getting people to attend church but more about bringing the church to people by sharing the life giving news of Jesus Christ.
