![]() Phonh Sinbondit, born in Thailand, and his wife Sommai, a Laos-born Vietnamese, were living in Laos with their four children when communists took over the country. Considered a possible subversive because of his facility with languages and film narration, Phonh was arrested and shipped off without trial to a concentration camp. After his release, as he and Sommai rebuilt their lives, Phonh's vision of God became clearer. Eligible for refugee status, the family immigrated to Ohio where his church work began. Today, New Life is a strongly evangelical church focused on building relationships among its multi-ethnic neighbors. Programs and services bring God into the lives of families and their communities- providing for some of the unique needs of refugees, such as ESL, tutoring, transportation, and translation services, offering opportunities for spiritual growth. Please pray and give. Home Missions hopes to raise and distribute more than $2,390,000 in the next 12 months for new ministries including New Life Church.
