More than a hundred years ago, the Christian Reformed Church started working with the Zuni people of Northwestern New Mexico. Today, Zuni Christian Mission School (ZCMS) is still bringing the Gospel of Jesus to this Native American community. ZCMS has about 60 Zuni students, from kindergarten through eighth grade. Most of the children come from non-Christian homes and about 50 percent come from families whose income is less than $14,000 per year. However, Zuni parents contribute, on average, $1,000 toward the $7,000 it costs to educate a child. Zuni must raise the remaining $6,000 per student.
