Ministry at Ferris State started five years ago when Wissink was given the opportunity to minister to the men’s basketball team and staff. Since then the ministry has expanded to include the football team, and Wissink is now known as the ‘honorary’ athletic department chaplain. Besides ministering to a diverse group of student athletes, he also draws Christian coaches and other staff together for study, encouragement, and prayer. However, students remain the primary focus of the ministry. Three years ago Wissink started the Fellowship of Christian Athletes chapter at Ferris, giving him the opportunity to meet with and encourage Christian student athletes from all varsity sports at one time on a weekly basis. This also allowed him to pay more attention to others who don’t know Christ. Please consider a gift! This ministry is funded in part by Home Missions. You may give to this ministry directly by contacting Ferris State Campus Ministry at mikewissink@gmail.com Or, give to the ministry's Home Missions grant at www.crhm.org.

Pastor Michael Wissink leads ministry for student athletes at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan. The mission is to walk alongside students, encourage and disciple those who know Christ, and to challenge, expose, and offer that opportunity to others to explore that relationship with Jesus.
