Glimpses of God at Work in Western Canada
The campus ministry at the University of Northern British Columbia in Prince George, British Columbia, has blessed the students, faculty, and administration as a valued service to the university. One of the ministry’s administrators recently took a similar position in student services at Kwantlen University. She contacted Martin to ask if the CRC would be interested in starting a new campus ministry there. Discussions have already begun to potentially make that a reality. Karen Wilk, who serves on the Western Canada team, not only teaches pastors and leaders about becoming missional communities but also practices what she teaches. Karen and her husband Steve have connected their neighbours to each other in such a way that new levels of care and concern have developed. Social gatherings, joint neighbourhood service projects, and communally helping each other has led to deepened friendships among neighbours and significant opportunities to share the Gospel in word and deed. The seeds of community transformation are starting to sprout because of Christ’s love that is made real in the lives of neighbours. < Back |
