Mt. Airy Community Church is a church that seeks to build a church out of people from the local neighborhood, bring many to Christ and disciple them, and eventually plant churches off of our church.

This church is located in a community that is racially, economically, and religiously diverse and both socially and politically liberal. This community is very politically active, as well as being focused on community involvement and environmental stewardship. The community is essentially humanist; because the community does not have any big obvious problems, many people view God as a tool to be used to advance the common interests of mankind. Therefore people are often very supportive of religion and view it as a healthy self-help tool that is wonderful as long as it promotes the common good and doesn't proselytize.

Through investing in their neighbors and building relationships in order that to share the Gospel, this ministry seeks to reverse the community’s apathy towards and self-help philosophy of Christ. In addition, through tutoring neighborhood kids, sports programs, and a community garden, Mt. Airy invests in the kids and works to mend the cultural split in the neighborhood between those can afford private schooling and those who can’t.
