Brazil, South America’s largest country, is home to The Back to God Hour Portuguese ministry. In cooperation with the Presbyterian Church of Brazil, Rev. Celsino Gama and his staff produce television and radio programs—including The Ark Clubhouse children’s puppet television program—and distribute over 600,000 copies of the CADA DIA devotional booklet yearly, and run an extensive Internet ministry.
Of special significance is the Disque Paz telephone ministry. Brief telephone messages or devotionals are provided to over 200 local churches that house and monitor the machines. Each month approximately 280,000 calls are received.
Ministry Leader: Rev. Celsino Gama
Rev. Celsino Gama was born and raised in a Christian home in Brazil. His father was a dedicated lay-preacher who profoundly influenced young Celsino. He became a minister in the Presyberian Church of Brazil, and received additional theological training at Calvin Theological Seminary. He has provided leadership to The Back to God Hour Portuguese ministry since 1979.
