Indonesian Language Ministry

Since 1969, God’s Word has been broadcast to the people of Indonesia. Despite hardship, threats and terrorism, the ministry is thriving in the world’s most populous Muslim country. Rev. Untung Ongkowidjaja became the Indonesian ministry leader in 2002. He and his staff produce radio programs, maintain the website ministry, handle follow-up activities, and produce follow-up materials.

The Indonesian ministry staff moved into new office facilities in Jakarta in 2005. This move greatly increased their presence in the city, and has enabled the staff to carry out the ministry in a much more efficient manner. Since over 60% of the Indonesian population is under the age of 30, of special significance is the development of the children’s ministry, including radio (and soon television) programs and devotional materials for children and teens.
