Ministry Expands in Africa

Sept. 13, 2006--God is doing marvelous things through the French language ministry in Benin, Africa. “I am happy to share some of the blessings and challenges the Lord has given us,” reports ministry leader Rev. Paul Mpindi. “In August, God allowed us to open a new Follow-up Center in Cotonou, the capital of Benin.” (Our office is located on the second floor of the building shown in the photo.)

The Back to God Hour began broadcasting in Benin in 2004 and the response to our daily radio programs has been phenomenal. “We have received so many e-mails and letters that we decided to open a Follow-up Center where listeners can go for spiritual assistance.”

Listeners can also enroll and work on Bible correspondence lessons at the new center. Several students have already enrolled in the Bible study. “Please pray that the Lord may strengthen this new center and allow his people to be blessed,” asks Rev. Mpindi, who has a passion to reach all French-speaking Africans for Christ.

Benin, a French speaking country in West Africa, is heavily dominated by Voodoo practices and animistic religions, even among those who claim to be Christian. Islam in the fastest growing religion of those being introduced to the Benin people, followed by Christianity.

“The news about terrorist plots reminds us of the urgency to reach out to our fellow African Muslims and bring them to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ,” Rev. Mpindi notes. “Terrorism can better be prevented when more people come to Jesus Christ. Please pray that we can bring the Word of our Lord to them.”

And he adds, “Please pray for us that we may receive from God wisdom and spiritual strength to bring His Word to His people. We praise God for your prayers and love for his work through the French ministry of the Back to God Hour.”
