Seminary Student’s Op-ed Published in Detroit Free Press
Jonathan Owens, a master’s of divinity student at Calvin Theological Seminary, was one of five seminary students and five rabbinical students in North America to be selected to attend the annual conference of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA).
Held over the Labor Day weekend in Detroit’s Cobo Hall, the ISNA conference drew more than 20,000 Muslims from North America, according a CRC News story published earlier this month.
Owens went this convention with certain stereotypes and preconceptions, but quickly found those inadequate to describe what he experienced, says Owens in an op-ed published recently in the Detroit Free Press.
