GEMS Seeking Executive Director

GEMS Girls’ Club Ministry is seeking people interested in applying to serve as the executive director of the organization. Applications are due by June 13.

A job description for the position says that the applicant “must  be visionary and motivational. Enthusiasm for the ministry must be aptly communicated both through public speaking and writing. An adequate knowledge of budgeting and finances is required."

The description also says: “The GEMS Executive Board is looking for a person of faith who models integrity in all walks of life... a leader who has the ability to work collaboratively and is able to identify and nurture the best in people."

GEMS, which has began in 1958, has more than 900 active clubs, serving more than 24,000 girls as well has the 5,300 women who mentor them.

It has clubs throughout North America, Zambia and elsewhere.

Recognized as an official youth-serving organization of the Christian Reformed Church, GEMS offers a  curriculum based on the Reformed perspective. It is a non-denominational ministry with clubs established in several different denominations and non-denominational churches and Christian organizations.
